shot 6

it is over 36 hours and completed 6th shot and still not signs of side effects and feeling good. Are there others out there who are not finding side effects occuring?
My doctor thinks if I have completed 1/4 of the theraphy (on 24 weeks for acute hep c) then probably will not in the future have side effects as my body has 1/4  of the toxins already inside.

I'm in a triple drug study and the 3 have wreaked havoc with my bloodcounts (means I'm tired), but I never, ever had any reaction to the interferon. No flu-like, no aches, nothing.  Since you are treating for acute, your immune system is probably still really jazzed up and the extra interferon will just help things along.  The treatment drugs are pretty rough and it is cumulative for some of the side effects.  I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Great news.  Good to hear this.  I start treatment shortly and want to be side effect free, but don't we all. ::)

Are you exercising, hydrating, and doing anything specific with diet, etc. ?
Good luck with the rest of treatment.

my first 30 weeks were a total breeze, but problems started to hit after that.  i am able to manage right now.  but everyone responds differently.  some get terrible sides at the beginning, some get it towards the end, some both, and some not at all!  hope you're staying sides free!

I never got side effects from treatment and know a few others that have been lucky enough not to either..I was told lots of times by others no sides meant the treatment was not working, I went on to prove them wrong I SVRd two years ago...Since then I have known lots of people that treatment sides has not affected them....Enjoy the no sides and remember the meds are working..PXX

I don't think your doctor's 1/4 calculation makes much sense, since the drugs are metabolized by the body. Taking the drugs is not a straight cumulative process - so by the end you have 100% of the drugs in your system so you stop. Nor are you correct to refer to these drugs as toxins. A toxin is a poison. Weird terminology under the circumstances.

It is possible that you won't feel any side effects at all. It is also possible that you will feel some mild side effects, such as dryness, itching, or lethargy. There is still time for some of those to manifest themselves. OTOH there are some people who go through treatment with no side effects. If so, you're one of the lucky ones.
