Benefits of early HepC diagnosis?

Hi all - I have read that approx 35% of people are able to clear a HepC infection during the acute phase.

Is continual testing recommended following a high risk exposure to diagnose HepC as soon as possible, to initiate some sort of treatment?

Can the bodies immune system be 'boosted' during the acute phase to offer the best chance of it fighting off this infection?

I have had generalised swollen glands (armpit and groin) since 23 days post exposure (needlestick), and have a enlarged lump/organ able to be felt below my sternum (painless).

Early diagnosis has been shown to be a huge factor in treatment success.
The earlier you treat, the better your chances of beating it.

I don't think it's as high as 35%, I think it's more like 15% to 20% and the reason these persons clear is unknown.  I don't think they take anything to to help them clear, at least from all the reading that I've done I've never heard of anybody saying anything about pre-treatment success.  Sorry for the bad news, but I believe it's the truth.  Maybe someone else will chime in with more knowledge on the subject.
