Long erm disability while on Hep C treatment

I've heard that it's  very difficult to get long term disability for Hep C tx. Is there anybody out there that got it? I would truly appreciate some advice on that. Are there any clear-cut criteria for obtaining it? I am in an advanced stage of fibrosis (stage 3/4). I'm not yet in the treatment, but would like to know what my financial option are.
Thanks

Thanks.
The best option for me would be to work. I've gone through the tx once, and I know that working is probably the best think to keep sane. On the other hand, I also know that it may not be possible, so I would like to know as much as possible about my options before I start the tx. The last time around I was not able to work, but now I have much more determination.

Disability depends on your state and if you have any extra coverage you have bought. I have worked since I was 16 years old (51 now) and here in Calif I am on temporary disability for the duration of my tx. The Doc first filled out my paperwork for 1 year, now it seems that I may have to remain on tx for 72 weeks. She told me they will just extend my disability. Hope this helps.
