Cured!!!

Just wanted to say thanks to everybody on the forum for helping me through treatment.  I just got my six-month followup results and my viral load is UNDETECTABLE!!  I'm psyched!  Telaprevir in addition to SOC was a rough treatment, but it worked, so it's hard to complain too much.  It's been wonderful to get my hair and strength back.  Best wishes to all the others still fighting this virus.  At least know that for some (maybe for you someday), there can be a good outcome.

Genotype 1b, initial viral load 2.36M IUs, stage 1, grade 2.

At the local Liver Conference a year ago I picked up a paper clip saying "I beat Hep C", as an investment in someday reaching SVR.  It's been sitting on my desk ever since, waiting.  Now I can use it with pride!  It's my favorite drug-company give-away of all time.

The Road Not Taken

No, this was my first go-around.  But note that this was with only 24 weeks of treatment instead of 48.  The Telaprevir ended at week 12.
