Damage Reversal

Just thinking,,,if a person is a stage 2  with moderate damage and does one full treatment and relapses, would the liver have reversed back to at least a stage 1?...also with this liver improvement, wouldnt the next round of treatment make it more sucessful...starting as a stage one now as appossed to stage two at the orginal start?

i know there are chances of viral mutations and all that ,but all these things aside...i think this is positive news to the re-treater....ANY THOUGHTS?

Yes ,my thoughts too...ive been hearing that even if tx fails...the liver has a chance to regress to a lower stage...not always the case of course..and also people who donate half of thier liver...i think it completely grows back within a year...dont quote me on this tho....

Why do you say 7 years? I understood that if the Liver was going to heal it would get done within 18 months.

I would think that whatever healing is done probably starts with being UND and with normalization of the Liver enzymes. Once that is accomplished then the healing would start until the virus came back. So if you had normal enzymes and were UND for 6 months most people would probably regress a stage.
But I don't think stage 1 or 2 would make a difference on treatment outcome.

The difference between 1 and 2 is damage done. I don’t think it works that fast but one can only wish. I am not sure but as with anything it takes the liver time to heal say around seven years with one successful treatment.
