stage 4

What can I expect in the way of pain, etc. as my liver gets worse. My Dr. told me I was too progressed for the regular meds to do any good. So I guess he will just put me on pain meds until its goodbye! Seems like a drastic thing to tell your patient!

I agree with jd. I'm not sure what all your current Dr. has explained about cirrhosis....compensated vs decompensated...but just sending you out the door with an Rx for pain meds and no follow-up seems like the time to find a new Dr.......

I'm also a stage 4 as are many others on the forum in various stages of treatment and /or transplant evaluation. If you could post some more stats that you might have regarding your staging, I'm sure somneone will chime in with more information.

Chin up and stay positive...and feel free to ask questions........Pam

Did your doctor discuss transplant with you?  Please ask, don't just accept that all you can do is control pain until the end.  If this doctor won't help you fight for your life, find one who will.  Please keep posting and let us know what happens.  Don't give up.

I'll be watching for your next post.  Thinking of you.
