Do i have hep c?
Ok so i had unprotected oral sex 9 months ago ever since i have had itchy skin all over fatigue headaches severe tiredness. White tongue roof of mouth yellow with red spots. Itchy skin bumps on face could this be hep c? Please help. Dont have health insurance
Oral sex is not a known means of transmission for hep c. Hep c is a blood borne virus which requires blood to blood contact. While there is a small risk of sexual transmission hep c is not considered to be an STD although those who engage in rough sex, have multiple sexual partners, or in the presence of HIV there is an increased risk so the use of barrier protection is encouraged by the CDC.
The majority of people infected with hep c do not experience symptoms for many years if ever. Those symptoms are usually from illnesses related to hep c some will develop liver disease after decades of infection so the symptoms would be those if advance liver disease.
Most people (about 70% – 80%) with an acute Hepatitis C infection do not experience any symptoms or show signs of the infection. If Hepatitis C symptoms do occur, they usually appear within two weeks to six months after being exposed to the Hepatitis C virus (HCV). If you do develop symptoms related to Hepatitis C, they’re generally mild and flu-like and may include:
Feeling very tired
Sore muscles
Joint pain
Fever
Nausea or poor appetite
Stomach pain
Itchy skin
Dark urine
A yellow discoloration of the skin and whites of the eyes, called jaundice.
The symptoms you listed of itchy skin and feeling tired could be so many things making it too vague to be of diagnostic value. Your other symptoms "White tongue roof of mouth yellow with red spots. Itchy skin bumps on face" are not symptoms of hep c infection.
