I was told (stage 3 plus) after SVR, that my liver would heal further over a couple of years; and that I could safely have a glass of wine every 2-3 months.
It will not do any good for your IBS. Drink at your own risk, or should I say drink but don't be far from the outhouse.
eat, drink & be merry.........in moderation of course :-)
Hi Jack-
Although I am overly cautious with regards to alcohol personally, I can't imagine that that little alchohol will hurt you. When you say remission I assume you mean you have not had any viral load for three years, or sustained viral response, is that correct?

My last biposy was on: 4 Apr 2007 and the results were: Stage 2-3 and Grade 2-3,
I am on remission since the earlt stage of the Tx which is about 3 years now.
I am not a drinker at all, Just speaking about 1 glass of bear per week or month.
Thank you,
Jack
I think your decision should based upon the condition of your liver. What stage of disease did your last biopsy show? Did you svr, is that what everything is fine means?
Don't get too close to the BEARS though!
