Hi there. Just want you to know that it took almost 3 months post treatment for the INR to make the switch. Also, the pro time ? I think it's called, also went to normal range for the 1st time. It's related to the INR, and clotting factors. Wow, seeing our livers get better is so exciting!!! Can't wait to hear your results. Keep us posted. Hope they are good........Kim
I see
It's def my INR that is keeping my MELD score from being lower
It has been 1.2 for some time, just like yours Kim
Testing just for viral load on July 5th since I couldn't wait and so talked them into doing it sooner than they had planned
I am feeling better 3 weeks after treatment but still not great - just the usual fatigue, headache and muscle/joint thing
Keep us posted. So Thrilled with your success!
Hi and hope all is well. At Mayo as we speak, waiting for another follow up appointment. My INR was giving me some problems but have since come down following the Hep C treatment. Still don't know whether I am still UND. Meld score #s
Creatine. 0.8
Bilirubin 0.4
INR. 1.0
Couldn't get that INR to budge and stayed at 1.2 which kept my score at 8
From what I can gather 6 is the lowest it can go. When I was concerned about the 8, we looked at my Docs latest blood work. Hers was a 7, and she stated that was because she had been dehydrated. So.....an 8 didn't seem so bad to me. That's great you came down from 12. After treatment who knows what yours will be. Had an MRI yesterday, and will find out what that says today!!!
Hope all is well, and just know treating was the best decision
Hang in there. ...Kim
What was the defining factor for your MELD score to drop to 6? Billirubin, INR or creatinine?
Mine has been 8 for the last 3 labs down from 12 last October but the INR and Biilirubin seem fairly constant
And, just curious, what MELD score would a perfectly healthy person have?
So happy for you Kim!
It's amazing to me how complex our body reacts when given the proper ingredients for success. Thru the years have witnessed mind, body, and spiritual connections. The processes are so much deeper than many are truly aware of. Don't know personally whether the virus is still in the attack mode, but understand we can all heal with whatever circumstances come our way. Time ultimately has the final say.
Read daily everyone's struggles and triumphs given the situation. Should the enemy reemerge know that the game is not over. In the end all of us will be survivors. I say this cause I don't want anyone to lose the faith. With failure comes our greatest success. Proud of all of us for fighting the fight, and never losing sight of the prize. Since many of us began our treatments at the same time, we are going to start seeing some not so good results. I myself am in the same group. If, or when UND is no longer in our vocabulary, be ready to adjust and know better options are around the corner. I will post my next results soon when my 3 month post results are given. In the end know that Hepatitis C will never define us again.
Thank you everyone for being there to help all of us get thru this. You have helped me more than you know. ...Kim
I certainly think it is reason to hope. You are doing all that you can to help your liver and the virus is no longer attacking your liver. Time will tell, of course, but I think it is remarkable to see measurable changes already.
I have read time and time again here about how folks, even those who have failed treatment ultimately, had an improvement in their liver status from the short time that the virus was kept at bay during treatment.
I am hoping that you remain undetected and that you will continue to see improvements.
Happy Thursday Kim. Jo
I believe your liver has been very slowly regenerating ever since you found out you were undetected for the virus. The offending agent (the Hep C virus) was gone and no longer attacking your liver, so this amazing organ which does so much for us, started to heal itself. All of your efforts to help the healing process are working. The evidence? Your labwork speaks for itself.
I'm going out on a limb here. Congratulations, Kim. You have beaten the dragon... :-)
