Elevated billirubin!

I started treatment 2 weeks ago, faldaprevir, ribavirin, BI 207127 on a phase lll clinical trial and and my bilirubin number has increased My doctor and nurse are aware and say to continue with the treatment but is there anything serious to worry about because what if it keeps increasing, this treatment is 4 months long in total, would I be able to continue the treatment till the end? Is there I can take to lower the billirubin level?

Thanks

you are using ribaviran, and a protease inhibitor(faldaprevir).  riba and pi are known for breaking down of hemoglobin.  bilirubin rises initially in response to red cell breakdown.

when i started triple tx w/inc my baseline bili was ,6 and my hemo was 16.5.  at the end of week 4, my bili was 1.5 and hemo was 14. my bili returned to baseline levels by week 8.

what was your  baseline bili and hemo.  hopefully your bili will normalize on its own.  mine did.  did you do a three part tx with inc or vic?

What stage of fibrosis are you? I saw you had a 9.5 on a fibroscan back in 2011 but not mention since than. Someone may have some insight or ideas but to be honest with you I would go by what they say in the trial since (ideally) they either know or are learning how the meds interact with your circumstances.

It would be great if you could post baseline info as well as stage and genotype. The study you are in sounds exciting and very promising
