Only a liver biopsy can really show the state of your liver. I would advise you to see a hepatologist. You need to know what genotype you are and what your viral load is. The biopsy is a very important factor to when to start treatment.

Good luck,

Marcia

Dear Qaisar

M also have same condition as described by you. I was detected for HCV in 2002. At that time after having all the tests, doc advised me to wait and will start treatment if any harm is done . Since now my LFTs are normal or my ALT goes 2-3 point higher than normal (43-46). But now after new researc, the specialists are referring that early treatment is better option as many ppl have normal LFTS throughout the life but demaged is done to the liver and ultimately have to go for treatment.

I myself has decided to go for treatment and will start it from this monday however i have 50 ALt and completely normal ultrasound result, but as per my doc its the best time to get treatment when one is lesser in age and have healthy position. You please consult with a good specialist with ur result. he may guide you better.
