Is a result of 2.2 for Hep C antibodies high? And what does that mean?

My husband has/had Hep C and was treated with pegalated inferon with riboviron in 1997.  After completing the six months course of treatment the doctor said he was cured.  I am not sure what that means as I thought you will now always have at least the antibodies and your system could go viral again.  In any event, he has been feeling really crummy for months and found out the doctor did not tell him that back in September his lab results indicated a 2.2 (presumably high) for Hep C antibodies.  The labs are being run again and we expect the same.  What does the lab result mean?  In combination with the feeling crummy - can we expect he might need another course of intferon, etc.  A close friend is dying of hep C and liver cancer - she has about a month left.  She started to feel really crummy about 18 months ago and she went downhill fast.  Do I need to prepare for this?

Also, what are some good sources to go to to find out about Hep C?

I am sorry to hear that your husband has relapsed.  The virus is so bad.
I would check into a new tx.  Of course it all depends on how your husband is doing, if the doctor thinks he can treat again.
Is the 2.2 his viral load? Mine was 7.6 when I treated and it can go even higher
I am cured now, thank God.
I wish you and your husband the best

Someone that has had HCV will always have the antibodies in their blood.  Even after someone SVR's (cured), they will still show antibodies.
