cirrhosis and hepatitis c

is hepatitis c and cirrhosis the same thing.

Yes, definitely stay off the booze.  Nothing is worse for your liver.

yes it was alcohol I'm afraid. I had a few relapses but thank god i,ve pulled though. I can't believe how ill you can feel even though it,s been 3 years since my last relapse.

What was the cause of your cirrhosis? Was it alcoholic cirrhosis, for instance?

thankyou for your reply. I was diagnosed with chirrosis 5 years ago. I had varices and had to have blood transfusion and was going into organ failure (kidney) but some miracle pulled me through.     but i have heard about hep c quite a lot lately and wasn't sure if it was connected.

Hepatitis C is a viral infection that involves the liver; cirrhosis is a condition of the liver that can result from Hepatitis C, along with many other diseases. Have you been diagnosed with HCV or cirrhosis?
