Gilead GS 9451 Trial

Hi,

I just received a call from the research folks at the institution doing this trial that they are going to screen me for the Gilead GS9451 trial as they are now accepting non/null responders.  I am a Geno 1a, il28b of T/T with Stage 3 fibrosis and did SOC for 12 weeks from October through the beginning of February.  My VL went from 5 million to 149,000 and my hepatologist discontinued tx.  According to everything I have heard and read, I have a 30% at best chance with Telaprevir.  When I met with Dr. Poordad at Cedars, he felt that this upcoming trial was a good fit based on my history.  Has anybody out there participated in this trial or thinking about it - please share.

Thanks

What are the protocols of the study?

I started this study on June 7, 2011 at University of Miami Liver Research Institute under Dr. Eugene Schiff.   I have felt a bit tired, but nothing major.  Not as bad as I thought it would be and am very pleased with care/attention thus far.   My VL was 6 million at baseline and I was 508 on week 3.  Have not gotten week 4 results yet, but I am sure I am UND!   My neutrophils have dropped quite quickly, but no rescue drugs yet.

I'm not in the study, but have a few questions if I may?  What phase is this study?  And what makes your doc feel this one is better than Telapravir?  Your still on the Combo IFN/Riba, right?  So, the only difference is the 9256?

All the best for success!

Not the same trial but I'm in Gilead 9256 and have found my care to be exemplary,  Because of some ups and downs on some of my blood counts, I have a full blood work up each week for monitoring purposes and my study nurse and doctor are very responsive with frequent phone calls and emails.  Also, in my trial all of my blood results are shared with me including every vl that is taken - some trials do not allow that.  Good luck!
