Got my drugs!! Back on schedule!

I was such a crying n hollering fool on the phone last week. I know I made approx 40 phone calls. I told em I was giving copies of a letter to my daughter, along w labs, n my phone bill to forward to every attorney n see who gave her the best deal. Haha!
So last night I took the 1/2 shot I had left. I only took 1 Telaprevir at 2 n 10. By 10:00 this morning I had 5 weeks worth of Telaprevir, RIBA, and 4 full shots of peg delivered. I was only 4 hours late on today's dose!
I feel poorly, but am soo soo happy! Gonna go rent a movie. Itching like crazy w fever n chills.
The good news is that my hgm went up to 8.8 n platelets didnt go down! We'll fight that battle next week.
So relieved guys. I haven cried so hard in years thinking I would end tx because of poor pharmacy judgement. Thanks for the messages n phone calls. I really love you guys. I played it down to my daughter. She couldn't do anything. Sry ao long. I'm just a happy itchy girl. Xoxo Karen :)

Yay!  So glad you didn't run too far behind schedule... your perseverance paid off, and you owe yourself a couple of movies! Really happy that you're winning the battle on the drug front and on the labs too... kick up those heels and enjoy a big tub of (butterless & salt-free) popcorn!  Three cheers for the teach. ~eur

I have had a horrible experience with Aetna for my meds.  Now I document every phone call with date, person and their id #, outcomes.  I have been in contact with head of human resources where I work.  Feeling so badly and having to send all this documentation to HR, but I feel they need to be reported.  If no speaks up about the abuse, they get away with it.  It has now taken me 12 days to get medications for rash, because they use a pharmacy in NJ, for an ointment.  I live in a big city.  When meds are needed 10 days is too long.  The rage inside which is fairly well controlled with AD, is my weapon against the ill treatment by insurance companies.   I work in a hospital.  It is disgraceful how they treat the workers who care for their patients.  This whole experience for someone who has never really had to get treatment for an illness, is an eye opener.  I'm 59, and if at all possible I never want to be on a medicare HMO when I turn 65.  I rather give up on other things and have more control over my healthcare.

Did you give the Fed Ex or UPS guy a big hug when he delivered today??? lol.  It's odd feeling that sense of relief knowing you don't have to worry about this for another month.  Get on their butt early next deliver so you don't have to relive this stressful situation.   It happened to me once too, but the delivery ended up coming just in time.

Ok, time for some more fist pumping and toe wiggling.  Keep fighting.

What a victory!   In your compromised state, to be able to do battle with the evil druglords, and to win!    Amazing.   This treatment is supposed to be about your rolling over and sucking it up, but instead you go out and wage war to win the cure!    You go scratch that itch, Karen, and be proud.
