I had a period of hairloss for about 6 months after diagnosis (not massive amounts, only noticeable to me).  I attribute it to stress.  Seems to have eased up now.  Practice for the big one, I guess.  I have not tx'd either....yet.

In my case, I've had HCV for 30+ years.  My hair has always been thick -  not course but lots of it.  Sadly, now in my 29th wk of tx, I've probably lost 1/3 of it.  I started out with long hair and it's really short now.  Seems to appear fuller with the length cut off.
Someone may have experienced hair loss prior to tx but I did not so can't comment on that.  What about male pattern baldness?  Does you family have a history of early hair loss?  Any relatives bald or balding?  Could be hereditary.  Try a good conditioner for the dry scalp -  you may be experiencing some psoriasis or dandruff on your scalp which can attribute to hair loss.  They make very good shampoos to control that.  Then there's just plain old stress.  Stress can make your hair fall out too.  A dermotologist can give you a pretty good diagnosis as to why your hair if falling out.  Good Luck
