Hair loss after about a month off of treatment

Hi everyone, it's Sharron from Canada.....I treated for close to 16 weeks, starting out with 8 million viral load and every weeks went to 300,000 then 2000 then 200.... I needed to be at 100 to continue the treatment but was 200, can you still feel the resentment of putting myself thru all that pegasys, ribo, interferon andvictrellis and then having to stop when so so bloody close.....but anyways, learning to move on and get over that....Willy mentioned e referring to Toronto western, which my reg GP doctor did but I was rejected as they said "I was under care". Welli don't think I was to a certain extent.....he has since reaplied and placed a call himself....coz I feel I need to see a hepatologist at thus point not thus gastro doctor.........the nurse practitioner did all the leg work so none if this cost me a penny.....     My viral load has risen just to 205 in a month off treatment and my platelets and hemoglobin is slowwwwlly rising a slight bit each week..... I am still taking Eprex to help build up my blood numbers....... But to get to my question of you wonderful people..... My hair is falling out....brush is full of hair not just a couple.....I can run my hand through and more than several will fall away...this is All the time......every time.....my GP said it could be stress .......I was on the interferon etc for close to 16 weeks and have been off them for about a month ....would anyone know if all these poisons and toxins can contribute, ie: build upon your system and Then make hair fall out......thank you, for any input, cheers

I can't say that I noticed if my husband had any changes in his hair or not.  I know a lot can from treatment.  BUT, I will say that even MY hair started to fall out about a month after he completed his treatment.  So it even affected me too! :P

Hi Sharron, I've been on interferon therapies 3 times, my hair thinned or fell out each time(had to wear a hat) but each time it grew back so give it some time it will come back! before you know it youll run your fingers through your hair and feel the stubble growing. Sorry the tx failed you but when the all orals come out youll get your cure! be well

Hiya its Jules from England. My hubbys hair continued to fall out alot until about 3mth tx then all of a sudden it started to grow back really thick and wavy, before it was always baby fine. I do know they say it can take at least 6mth to get the toxins out of your body so hang in there.Just a thought my hubby was on anti depressent tablets called seritonin and they made his hair drop out by the bucket load, so if you on any anti-depressents it might be a good idea to check out their side effects. Kind regards Jules
