Have studies been done combining pegasys, pegintron and ribavirin?

I searched the internet and didn't find anything. My non-scientific mind wonders, If not contraindicated why the two drugs could not be combined along with ribavirin and possibly produce a better result.

From my limited perspective, It seems as though the smaller molecule pegintron's ability to get to all those nooks and crannies where the virus may be stuck, and the larger molecule pegasys' ability to stay in the body longer and bring down vl more quickly could have an enhanced effect during treatment.

Just thinking and wondering if anyone has done this or heard of it being studied.

Good points mike, tx certainly lends itself to obsession huh? This isn't a choice for me being in a trial, I was just wondering if it had worked or been studied.

I can not recall seeing a study like that or anyone treating with both pegs. It may sound logical and perhaps it does have merit but my reaction is that you may be trying to reinvent the wheel with this type of speculation. And dosing with two different drugs might be a problem. Do you halve each dose and hope that the cumulative effect is efficacious or do you use 2 full doses of each pegylated interferon? I think it's better to choose one peg and stick with it. My choice would be Pegasys but that's mainly because of my experience with the side effects of both. I believe they both basically have the same efficiency but Pegasys was much easier for me to tolerate.
Just my opinion. By the way I did think about that approach at one point in my treatment but decided I was getting a bit obsessive compulsive.

Good luck,
Mike
