Help! Neupogen and Chest Pain

I took my second injection of neupogen Friday night, about 1 hour later,
I experienced chest pain and rapid heart beat.
I will be contacting my doctor this morning.
Has anyone else experienced this or know anything about this side effect.
I am not on tx now . I was stopped in February due to low neutrophil numbers and
a doctor who didn't really have the expertise to treat Hep.C or complications.
The very experienced specialist I am now seeing wanted to see if he could get my numbers up a little before restarting
treatment. It seems that every step along the treatment process has been difficult for me and I don't want my doctors to give up on me.

Thanks for responding so promptly. I have been very frightened every since the pounding hard incident. I go today to get my blood tested.

I went to the doctor and he checked my heart out and found everything was O.K.

How did you get through treatment with all the pain from Neupogen for 7months.

I haven't even started the treatment yet, but I'm determined to do it if physically possible.

I have the support of my 80 year old parents and all my aunts and friends etc.

Again thanks so very much for your account of your situation.

"felt as if maggots were gnawing at my bones".  I love that description.

Chest pain is listed as an adverse reaction on the Neupogen med insert.  Notify your doctor about the chest pain.

I got a call from my doctor  3 months into my hep c treatment that I had no white blood cells and had to get a shot of neupogen immediately! I was on neupogen for 7 months, and I had all kinds of side effects from it, especially on my left upper back and shoulder (it felt as if maggots were gnawing at my bones).  I had pains everywhere which made me have panic attacks that I was having a stroke, not the case.  Every time I showed up at the doctor telling him I was dying he said I was fine.  So, I slowly accepted that it was my mind mostly reacting to all the drugs...I was suffering from anxiety attacks which lead to panic and so I treated it with anti-anxiety drug throughout the entire treatment.  Not pleasant physically painful, but most of all psychological drainage.
best of luck
