I dont know whats wrong with me. On my 6th week and really only had fever the first week. Saw my doc on monday and told him I was running like 100 degree fever he said not worry unless above 101.
For the last 3 days my fever has been going between 101.9 and 103.5 .. I take my shots on tuesdays so its almost time for another one. Ive been eating ibuprofen and it doesnt bring it down to much. I feel horrible I look white as a ghost. My back hurts, tummy, hips, thighs and head.

Im going to call doc first thing in the morning but wanted to know if anyone had suggestions to bring down my fever.

thanks all

Tylenol is the best OTC pain reliever and fever reducer.  Taken recommended dosage per hepatologist.

My nurse recommended Regular Tylenol or Extra-Strength Tylenol but NOT Tylenol #3. Tylenol #3 has codeine in it.

She told me I could take up to a limit of 2000mg per twenty-four hour period. Therefore, you just have to add up the dose strength, whether you have regular or extra strength at home. It's important not to overdose.

Always check with your medical team first.

I stopped taking Ibuprofen at all - I really just used it for my arthritis and it didn't seem to be any more effective than acetaminophen (tylenol) with the sx. I found Tylenol really much more effective and would take 1000 mg twice a day, sometimes three times but never usually more than that.  I guess you rally need to take it every four to six hours for it to be effective with the fever.  Although I never had fever for days at a time - hours daily, sometimes.  Once I went to emergency and got bloods done because I was sure I had an infection, but I didn't.  Maybe you could do that, go to your doctor and at least get re-assured rather than worrying - the sx can be so dreadful and some medical assistance can be really helpful to getting through the worrying. Definitely increase your water intake - all through treatment I drank 3 litres a day.

Tylenol really is the wonder drug - my sister is using it to counteract sx from cancer chemotheraly as well.

Speaking of kidneys, with the temp and back pain, perhaps get checked for a kidney infection....or bladder. That's a rather high temp for an adult to run so many days in a row and not having any OTC meds bring it down....and especially on tx when our immune system is already struggling.

Any news from your Dr. yet?   Hang in there.....Pam

I've had a fever every evening for the last two weeks.  Tylenol does break the fever, but I only take them twice a week and the other evenings I just ride it out.  My nurse said some people have the fevers during tx so its normal.

Increase your water in take during the fevers as this also dehydrates you.  Try some Tylenol but don't take to many in one day.  Another thing you can try is some ice packs and see if that helps.

My fevers so far have not went over 100.2, but I would be concerned if they got as high as yours.  Hope the Tylenol works.

Please check about the ibuprofen, I know here in the Uk we are not allowed to take it on tx, as its part of the aspirin family and can thin blood not a good idea with lowered platelets.....Hope you feel better soon..PX

I just switched to Tylenol for my headaches. The jury is still out on whether it is an improvement or not. I think you can alternate the two several hours apart. Tylenol is usually every 4 hours, Ibuprofen every 6. I've done that to break a fever in my daughter. It did work, too. I forget which one to take first. You should definitely call your doctor. You might have something else going on, like the flu or an infection. Hope you feel better soon.

My nurse said that ibuprofen (advil) doesn't work for fevers and I should take acetaminophen (tylenol). I discovered she was right!
