is insomnia a symptom of Hepatitis C? (not from treatment)

Hello all, anyone in here have or had Hepatitis C and experience insomnia? I know that some treatment side effects is insomnia, but WITHOUT any treatment, just symptoms of Hep C, does it include INSOMNIA?

Lately, the symptom I have is Insomnia and it worries me, maybe I should get tested for Hep C, but insomnia can be causes of other diseases.

i dont do drugs, no needles injection, no unsafe sex, just recently get ear pierce 10 weeks ago.

I really really doubt you have Hep C.

Many people have insomnia -- some experts say over 50% of adults have it at some time.  And if you're anxious, that chance must go up. So it's unlikely to be a symptom of any disease.

I have insomnia and I don't have Hep C.  However, I have pretty much cured my insomnia by doing one simple thing: I exercise vigorously for half an hour or even more almost every day.  Give exercise a try.  If you're sedentary now, start out doing 20 minutes every other day and see if it helps. If you think you don't have enough time, just remind yourself of how much less efficient you are when you haven't had adequate sleep.

Good luck with your insomnia!

I've always had insomnia but don't relate it to the HCV at all and don't think it's a symptom of it whatsoever.

I don't see how hep C could get into the bottle of disinfectent - hepc is a blood to blood borne disease and it couldn't just magically float over to a bottle.

You can go to your local health department and they will test you annonomously.  Also you can go and give blood, they will let you know in a hurry..... No cost either way.

thank you tashka, maybe im just paranoid.

i'm a full time student, working minimum wage, i was thinking of taking a hep C test but i heard it cost like $400 average, wao, that is alot of money who make $8 an hour for me.

i just been stress lately from load of classes and work, and yes worry about getting hep C also, maybe that is why i keep wake up at night.

nobody in my family have hepatitis, i don't do drugs, no needles, no sex so chances i'm safe. it just my recent earlobe pierce worry me, i heard that you can get infected with Hep . B, C through piercing.

what worries me is that the lady who pierce my ear with a pair of starter stud, the stud are clean, 14k gold, brand new, the gun is dirty since it reusable, but i heard the gun don't touch your ears, the studs does. then after piercing she pours on my ears the liquid that cleans your new piercing, let just said that in the liquid have somebody hep C blood inside the bottles and pours on my newly pierce wounds, would that cause me to have hep C?

also, is there any home test for Hep C? thankssssssssssssss!!!

Insomnia is not considered a symptom of hepatitis C. Sometimes, this disease makes people tired, lethargic; they sleep more than usual.

Majority of hepatitis C patients have no symptoms at all. And even if you were exposed 10 weeks ago (this is unlikely from what you described), it is too early for the symptoms to appear. It is long-standing chronic disease that causes symptoms.

After reading your posts, it seems to me that you are very worried and nervous. This probably affects your sleep.  It is hard to fall asleep when you worry. Why are you so fixated on hepatitis C? Does somebody close to you have it?

Please understand, that unless your ears got pierced with the needle which had somebody's blood on it, you can not get this disease. Some amount of infected blood should be introduced into your bloodstream to make you ill. I never heard about somebody being infected after ear piercing with the ear-piercing gun.  I am married to somebody with hepatitis C-we had a child together, used the same toothbrush and shaver by mistake several times before we got the diagnosis. And I am clear.

I also can not sleep right now, but it is because I slept too long this morning. So I can not fall asleep. From one insomniac to the other. I wish you healthy restful sleep. Try to relax.
