Hep C and Bipolar Disorder Anyone?

Does anyone have the dreaded combination of Hep C and Bipolar disorder out there?  My doc says he is hesitant to give me the Peg treatment as it would plunge me into a dangerous depression.  Would like comments.

I am in northern california, but my husband  and I love Oregon. I have Hep C 3a and Bi polar...currently I have a bit of time to start treatment as I am pregnant, and can't until I have this baby..

Let know how OHSU works out...and what new approach they have. I'm very interested.

Thank you for taking the time to answer my question, it really helped.  My hep doc does know about my BD situation and therefore is hesitant to treat me for hep C.  If anything can get you down though is to have no energy, joint pain and fatique I have been experiencing for the last year.  I think he is going to turn it over to OHSU (Oregon Health Science University) here in Portland.  I think they have a new approach.
Thanks Again

That depends on what doctor told you this.. Has he been treating you for bipolar and does he know your history of depression???
Treatment IS TOUGH! and certainly for those of us with bipolar who are on meds and keep in constant contact w/a great hepatoligist about depression/suicidal thoughts....
the sides from this medication CAN bring on even more depression!
My hepatologist knew I was in constant contact w/my physc doctor and knew I knew the risks of depression...but I will tell you there are days it is ROUGH!
It can be done though...know the risks before you go into treatment..you cannot do this without medication for your bipolar or depression..
Good luck...
