Welcome to the forum.  He really needs to check with his doctor about which medications are alright to take.  I take Immodium when needed and Protonix or Prevacid for gerd.  I would stay away from the Oxy or any Opiate based drugs because they make the virus replicate more than it would naturally.

Well I take a lot of meds but i am on treatment. I take and have been taken antidepresants, nerve pill, sleeping pill, codene for back pain. I really think that you just shouldn't take asperin I was told that that is one thing that effects the liver the hardest and anti inflamatories. Can't spell to good but I try. You really should get on the new treatment right away.  God Bless

As Fret said, welcome to the forum.  Your friend should talk to his doctor about everything.  I too panicked when I was diagnosed.  It was very frightening and I thought I would die.  It took a while to do research and to wrap my brain around the virus
In addition to talking to the doctor, the Mayo Clinic has information regarding Hep C and you can do other searches on line to find out more
Best of luck to you and your friend
