Hep c in emergency responders?

My antibody test came back positive. Waiting for the pcr now. My question is will it hinder being hired as a police officer if the pcr comes back positive for hep c? What are the chances it comes in negative? My enzymes were perfect all other blood work came in negative.

About 25% of people who become infected with hep beat it on their own so that is your odds. If you do test positive for the virus you can be treated and cured with the new meds approved in the last couple of years so either way no worries.

Congrats on your decision to go into public service
