I don't know what medications are available in your country or if you are able to travel to do treatment, but as flcyclist said the duration of treatment and type of medication you use are going to depend partially on what type of HCV (genotype) you have. Also, if you are very recently infected, this could change your length of treatment. Length of treatment is generally from 24 to 48 weeks and the medicine is generally quite expensive. Thee is no preventive vaccine for HCV right now.
Which Genotype do you have. There are 6 main Genotypes (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6) and and the treatment is different depending on the Genotype.
If you have Genotype 1, the recommended treatment is the triple medication treatment with Interferon injections, Ribavirin, and a Protease Inhibitor (either Teleprevir or Boceprevir).
I do not know a lot about the treatment for the other Genotypes but I believe they are treated with a combination of Interferon injection and Ribavirin (oral).
Treatment last anywhere from 24 weeks to 48 weeks depending on the response to treatment.
Unfortunately, the medications are quite expensive but sometimes the drug companies will help with the cost.
The answers to your questions depend on several factors such as your genotype, current condition of your liver, etc. Rather than cut and paste the information, I suggest the following for further reading.
