What's a typical tx plan for 1a g-type

I've been reading alot about treatment regiments from 24-48 weeks.  I understand that based on the level on liver damage and other variables, I will under go some form of treatment.  Are the treatments taken orally or do you inject them youself?

The interferon injections are done by the patients; they are similar to insulin injections, and tuck under the skin… also known as subcutaneous injections. They’re typically taken once a week; the oral drug ribavirin is taken twice daily, however.

Treatment consists of weekly injections of interferon (Pegasys or PegIntron) and up to 1200mg of a pill called Ribavirin per day.  The dose  of Riba is usually based on weight. and the interferon is self injected.

Genotype 1's usually treat for a minimum of 48 weeks, however, treatment can go  up to 72 weeks based on  the severity of liver damage.  I am a genotype 1a, did 48 weeks of treatment from 5/2006 - 4/2007 and relapsed.  I then did 72 weeks of treatment from 12/2007 - 5/2009 and relapsed again.  I have advanced liver damage (Stage 4 with early cirrhosis).  The more liver damage you have, the harder it is to clear the virus.
