Hepatitis C and Porphyria Cutanea Tarda

Hello, I  have PCT. The dermatologist took one look at my face and said it was from liver diseases as Hep C. without me telling her that I had been diagnosed 3 days prior with it. My face looks terrible and I have hair growing on my forehead and both sides. I also have horrible painful blisters all over my hands. 3 more just this morning (no sun either)...my hands hurt so bad and I can barely stand it....cant get into Dr for Hep C till January and I have no insurance....Very scared...Is anyone else going thru this?

So sorry. You need a doc right away. You can get Insurance even if you can't pay. Start looking. Call the state. Look on the state webpage for disease treatment. Network. Call around. Your goal is getting a doc asap and thus Insurance. Call your state and ask about Insurance help. Don't give up.
You need all the tests before you get treatment. You could make a new thread asking if anyone knows of Ins/how to obtain Insurance in KS. Each state is different. But everyone has to have Ins by law on Jan 1 so might as well get it. Ask around for free Ins

Kit:  Are there any Free Clinics, or Low Income Clinics in KS?  If so you might want to seek treatment for the PCT there until you can see the Hep Dr.

Are you possibly eligible for your State's Medicaid program?

Another possibility is, if you are close enough to a teaching Hospital or a Liver Transplant Hospital, you might call/visit to see if you qualify for treatment through them or for any information they can give you on how to get treatment sooner.

Sorry I don't have any other ideas about what is available in KS, but Ii encourage you to try the above avenues to get treatment.

Meds for the hepc, when you get to that level in tx (treatment), can be accessed from the Pharmas who make them, through the Co itself or through help from panfoundation.org.

Also try the hepcandme.com (I think that is correct.  If not, someone on here will list the correct .com info)

Welcome to the Forum and Good Luck and good treating for both Dxs (diagnoses).
