I'm sure you'll read about it on one of the sites Bill gave you but remember, don't exchange toothbrushes, (in case the gums bleed), don't use the same razors or nailclippers. Other than that, learn everything you can about what your son will be going through with tx or without tx. Join a support group if you can. Take care and good luck to you, your family and especially your son.
Hi; and welcome to the discussion group.
If it’s in regards to Hepatitis C, there are a lot of very informed folks that can help guide you right here. You can also consult with the Center for Disease Control’s viral hepatitis website for an authoritative review:
http://www.cdc.gov/hepatitis/index.htm
as well as Janis and Friends for Hep C related questions:

These are web based help guidelines; of course, nothing can replace his doctor for comprehensive questions and management.
Hep C (HCV) is a blood born pathogen; it’s passed from blood to blood, and is rarely transmitted sexually. It’s not transmittable in a family setting; I’m unsure of the thrust of your questions. If you have any specific questions at this time, we’d be happy to try to answer them.
Sorry to hear about your son’s diagnosis; again, welcome to the group,
Bill
