Thanks,
I had a skin rash months before this popped up, eczema or dermagraphitis was the generic diagnosis. I was tested for gluten allergy then and found to be negative. Would they need to do a byopsy for liver cancer? Wouldn't that show up on an US?
David
They should also be looking for Celiac's (wheat allergy) and heart disease and other liver disease like liver cancer. I had 7 other tests done for cause of high enzymes when I was diagnosed with hepatitis, including iron to be sure liver was not storing it.
Good luck, Dave; let us know how things go,
Bill
Thanks for the advise. I am not a drinker, ALL viruses that I know of (Hep A - C,D (?)), Mono, CMV, Lyme disease have all been ruled out. I had a complete abdominal US that showed nothing. They did not get to the bottom of it. Just before it happened I was being treated for Strep with Zithromax, which is known to cause Hep like symptoms in some folks (but so far never in me). They acknowledge that it could have been that, but are not going to ignore other possibilities.
I have arthritis (an autoimune disease) and we have family members with LUPUS. I'll mention the autoimmune hep and see what comes of it.
Thanks for the help.
Boy, Dave—
Have viral hepatitis, alcohol, and drug-induced illness have been successfully ruled out? There are so many things that can go wrong with the liver; I imagine they’ll eventually get to the bottom of it, though. Make certain that autoimmune hepatitis has been ruled out as well; that sometimes remains hidden, it seems.
As far as exercise goes, you should follow your doctor’s advice. I can’t think of why they’d ask you to remain completely sedentary, but certainly understand not taxing your body to the point that the immune system might be affected.
Best of luck; perhaps someone will stop by with some wisdom for you. Most of us have Hep C and aren't too familar with other liver issues. Are you currently under the care of a GI doc or hepatologist?
