I have protein in the urine which can be a precursor to glomerulonephritis. I read my insurance qualifications for receiving Harvoni, and fortunately, this is on the list of qualifying factors. Seeing my hep Dr in March to ask for it.
From what I have seen Express Scripts will only provide Harvoni for F4 and F3 maybe only other is if you can demonstrate Viekira riba intolerant otherwise the only thing Express Scripts will approve is Viekira Pack

Providence Insurance only pays for level 3 and 4 fibrosis.
I am at level 2 last we checked. Doctor is doing some blood tests and then going to try to argue for me.
He has 2 clients that got rejected by insurance twice and then went to Gilead and got the stuff.
Escripts will pay for all levels. Providence won't . Doctor is trying to convince them they should pay for all levels. (He is up there in the politics arena).
So, time between perscribing and getting it might be forever.
Blood tests take a week to come back . I guess they have new blood tests that can determine Fibrosis levels.
From when my doctor said yes to the prescription, my initial denial and many phone calls and emails to Express Scripts it took 2 weeks to get the prescription in hand.
From when I was approved I had the meds the next day. Not everyone is available every day what If you had a trip for your job? Just schedule delivery after you get back.
I would enjoy my trip and start my meds when I get back.
Good luck

It's super quick once approved. If they have approved you, I'd expect a call from Pharmacy this week for delivery of the meds.
(I already commented on this but the post disappeared.)
It's super quick. BOOM! Once approved by Insurance company via your doc, you will get a call from pharmacy regarding their delivery of the meds. Good Luck! S/O is helping many clear, myself included. Be sure to take them the same time each day with a snack before then. You can always go skiing but this is your only chance for treatment. If your Insurance Co has approved it now as you indicate it could be any day now.
Hey there! It took me a few weeks to start receiving the medication. The insurance company has to approve. Then the prescription is sent to the specialty pharmacy. When I treated I had to take the meds, go to the doctors office to have them show me how to inject.
If I were you, and I had the money, I would go enjoy my ski vacation.
Once my insurance approved it I had the Sovaldi and Olysio the same day. From the time I got the prescription and insurance approval after one denial was over a month all together.
