You've got a good mind set! Endurance is the name of the game. I echo what others have said. Been biking n walking... slowly. Cried like a baby n slept 2 hours when I got home. You're killing the virus. One day at a time.
Hang in there, Karen :)

Good to hear your good attitude and that side effects are not getting you down. I have not started treatment yet, some post were scaring me but I'm feeling more hopeful. GOD BLESS

I don't know about pushing the rocking chair.  Last week, when I took my husband to get blood drawn (week13), the guys in the wheelchairs were smoking him.  I had to walk backwards to let him catch up to me.  :)

Joey- hang in their dude. I am on week 8 of triple (victrelis) and the interferon sides are not nearly as bad as weeks 1-4. I inject on Saturday night so Sunday is basically shot but today (Monday) was good. Rode my bike and went to the beach for lunch. It will get better as time goes on.

By week 14 you will be able to push the rocking chair!  Probably sooner.

I had weeks in incivek where I thought it would all be downhill from that point on and all the sudden I would have an easy week.

Water definitely helps.  So does avoiding sugar.  Pooh has good tips.

I am on week ten and a rocking chair seems like a lot of work to me.

I agree, I think it will, get better. I felt pretty weird the first week of treatment, tired, weak, dizzy, spaced out, headache, nausea, a little bit of everything. After that, things got a little better, for awhile. For me (but not for all) the first two days after the inj. are the days I feel most wiped out. As the week wears on, I feel better, not great, but better. (Some seem to feel okay for the two days after the inj. and then not so good about days 3 and 4. Everyone is different.)

My main pointers would be to be proactive. Get on top of any side effects as soon as they appear. I take the tylenol when I take the inj and also the next day. I also take it whenever I feel achy or head achy (only up to 1000 mg a day). Drink lots and lots of water. Rest. Don't overdo. Eat solid meals as much as possible, at least part of the time. Watch for the rash and itching and get on them immediately if you get them (benadryl and hydrocortisone cream). Keep your stools firm. It is the soft and loose stools that give you the flaming rectum. (You may not have this problem. Many/most do not.)  Keep an eye on your eyes. If they start to get itchy, dry, or irritated, tell the doctor. You may need some type of eye drops. I and many others are on some form of eye drops for the duration of the treatment. (I am on Restasis.)

I finished Incivek 2 weeks ago. It was not fun, but I would do it again if it meant getting rid of this virus. I feel quite a bit better now that I am off the Incivek, not great, but definitely better.

You can do it too. I wish you the best.

Oh dude. That's a drag, you were going to be my poster child! My symptoms have kind of mellowed out Thank God, and I can sit here and watch the Rose Bowl instead of hiding under my covers. I have been drinking water like a madman, and forced myself to walk on the elliptical for 20 mins or so.  The biggest thing I pray for (today) is that the vertigo stays away.

Hang in there Day 3 is almost in the bag!

Well Joey are u doing incivek? Cause I gotta tell you the first 12 weeks are not very fun at all. I am on week 18 and I would not do those 12 weeks again for nothing. But u can handle it, I had all of the sides that they say you can ever have and I went to work I am a teacher, an had to drag myself through the day then went home an crashed in the bed. If you have any side effect questions just ask me, cause I went through it all including two blood transfusions. lol Hang in there an God Bless

Hi Joey, it's unfortunate you have joined the feel like crap club.  So unds like you are on incivek. Good news is you get the worst of it over in 12 weeks.  Makes SOC seem easy hopefully for the last weeks.  Still not climbing any mountains on SOC now myself but feel better than in incivek

More good news, some of how you feel comes from the interferon.  It tends to peak a couple days post shot then you may stater feeling better of the next few days.

And more good news, you will likely adapt a bit to tx, you will have good days and bad days, weeks too.  So you likely will not always feel like this.

Have you tried Tylenol or whatever your doc said you could take?

Hope you feel better soon, tx is only temporary, hang in there.

I think it will get better.  You will have some days where you feel worse than others, maybe the first few days after your injection.  Then you'll have other days where you feel fine.  Your body is adjusting to the treatment.  Remember, side effects will come and go.  Drink lots of water, get some fresh air, and rest when you feel tired.  No rocking chairs!
