After Telaprevir?

I'm feeling decent n beginning to hope the RIBA n peg alone won't be that bad. Am I being optimistic? My endurance has remained pretty strong, although you ALL hear my whiney times.
I settled into my daughters home. She's a take charge girl n is gonna help a lot. I'm feeling soo hopeful that the next 36 weeks can't be any worse than what I've been through. Any thoughts? Karen:)

I have been off telaprevir for about a month (hard to believe). The most important thing was the end of the itching and the rash although my scalp remains weird. I do feel better but still have the irritibility, hair falling out, insomnia. Oh yeah, fatique (sp), occasional brain lapse, breathlessness. I was getting really emotional on the telaprevir and it seems to be improving but still am not really myself :0). I've had alot of major life issues during the past 3 months too so it is hard to tell.

I'm confident we're gonna get svr. Lol. I've thot the same thing about "wake me up when it's over!"
My best middle of the night trying to quit itching story was an SNL skit with ALL of us in the same room - w RIBA rage, rash, nausea, hair falling out, insomnia.. Did I leave anything out? Haha! Karen (:O

At same point in my tx. just took inf shot 12 today, so done with telap next Sunday.

Am confident sides will improve when telap over, but pray that antiviral activity of inf/riba are enough to stay UND.

Best of Luck,
Robo

Well I have been on Interferon mono-therapy (failed) and Interferon and Riba dual-therapy and after the initial couple of weeks they were a picnic relative to Interferon, Riba, and Incivek. Itching and shortness of breath with exertion as well as shortness of temper were my primary s/e's with dual therapy. The Incivek is obviously causing my present life-force vacuuming lethargy which is far more debilitating than the other sides: Anecdotal and empirical!..... I wish I could go into a science fiction like sleeping pod until the 12 week protease inhibitor course was over.

Lots of people have been on RIBA and INF, and needed procrit, and Neupogen. More people have not needed rescue drugs. Hoping for all you guys the last 36 is a picnic.

After completion of telaprevir treatment in the Telaprevir12/PR group, hemoglobin levels increased to levels observed in the Pbo/PR group over a 12-week period. this is from the Telapeivir briefing document
http://www.fda.gov/downloads/AdvisoryCommittees/CommitteesMeetingMaterials/Drugs/AntiviralDrugsAdvisoryCommittee/UCM252562.pdf

so your hemoglobin should increase after discontinuation of telaprevir

It only makes sense that when you stop taking one very powerful drug that that can have many side effects that when stopped ...you should feel somewhat better. hoping so for you anyway :)
