Harvoni Blood Pressure spike

Does Harvoni sometimes cause blood pressure to spike?
MY normal BP is 107/66 just got a reading of 139/77. That has never happened to me before now. On Harvoni for 36 days.
Anyone knows is this a side effect? Is it something I need to call my DR. on ?

I am not a doctor but I really think that if your blood pressure is high enough to cause symptoms like that, and it does sound like what I have heard T I A s deascibe as, then maybe you shoulf get your friend to take you to the emergency room.

At the very least, please call your doctor's number.  Most have answering services to forward emergency calls or have someone covering weekend/evening calls, if the practice has more than just one person in it.

Stroke can completely clear up, or can become more serious.  Please get it checked out.

Does your insurance have an 'Ask a Nurse' service?  Or your local hospital?  If, so, give them a call.

Let us know how you do!

Prayers for you.

Pat

Thanks for your comment. I think I might have had a mini stroke today. I was driving and all of a sudden I felt dizzy & light headed & my left eye got blurry. I pulled of the road for a few minutes. Then when I felt ok, I drove a few miles & got a friend to follow me home I will be contacting my Dr. tomorrow.

Hi,
I had an increase from 2-4 weeks, from normal being
100/64 to 152/90-94. Even went to ER, felt so weird. They dx hypertensive, added 40 mg of verapamil, which I took for SVT, it didn't bring it down. It normalized on it's own(I stopped extra verapamil because of Harvoni Q's),
By 5th week. I have no answer, doc thought it was Harvoni related, I'm not sure. Just keep a check, though higher, your BP @139/77, is not very high. Try to decrease caffeine & salt intake & always check w/ your doc. So, yes, that did happen to me & I'm fine.
Hope that's helpful.
Best,
Randy

There have been others on the forum who have mentioned BP issues on Harvoni. If it concerns you, you should contact your doctor to be safe.

I've currently got a BP issue and will be treating with Harvoni soon. If you get any information, please share.
