One year post TX my hair is finally growing and it normally grew very fast.  I also have the white tongue and sometimes it hurts.  Small price to pay for SVR I figure.

White coating on the tongue is usually a benign condition caused by buildup of skin cells and inflammation of the little projections on the surface. It comes from smoking, dehydration, not brushing your tongue when you brush your teeth and poor nutrition. In some cases it can be a fungal infection like thrush. I wouldn't spend too much time worrying about it.

Normal adult hair grows a half an inch a month although it seemed my hair grew faster after I finished treatment.

I have no idea about your second question but I seriously doubt it.
