Ive Been negative for 3 years

Hi everyone I haven't posted anything for sometime. But I thought I would just to encourage people going thru it. I was stage 4 genotype 3. I had done 2 tx before but was unable to complete them because of the side effects. But finally 3 years ago I managed to make it thru and have been clean since. Thanks God. That is a tough treatment no doubt. But liver failure is a drag too. After two failed tx I really thought I was going to die from it. I don't know why I did it a third time. Kinda seemed so insane. Doing the same thing again expecting the same results. But it worked. My ALT and AST have all been below 20.

Wow Red it's been that long already?  It was great of you to come on and encourage folks - you had a rough road but got the brass ring......that is just so wonderful.  I still can't believe how long it has been.

You should stop by more often when you can, encouragement that we can beat this disease is so crucial to newly diagnosed members......it's really all we have in fact, that HOPE that they can do it too!!!!!!

Hello,
I am just the same interested in a status of your liver now . Stage 4 is likely to be something close to cirhosis? But I heard that every therapy at least lessen this. If this is true, you are a proof for that. If your ALT and AST are so low, and in fact normal values, that surely means that your liver recovered almost completely meanwhile.
Good luck for you, and a great hope for rest of us, that wait for a new treatment round.

This is such great encouraging news!

I am really interested to hear if you have had a biopsy post treatment and how your liver is doing. We have been discussing several times what kind of effect SVR has on healing the liver. It has been said that the liver heals itself by several stages, but that it was more difficult when one is stage 4. Sorry for prying into your business :-)
