Just try to weigh both sides

This question may sound rather morbid. I am still waiting for my type and count so I know I have a long way to go. I have scoured the internet for info and have posted twice on this site and received invaluable answers and posts of support. I pretty much have an idea of what could be waiting for me if I decide to tx. I realize though shared everyones trip is different and unless you have been there you can't really know. I am just trying to get knowledge on what I am facing one way or the other and do not mean to get anyone down. This site is like a god sent, I just can't find anything on the web. No more walking on egg shells. What I need to know is what kind of death is liver disease. Different stages, pain involved, ability to fuction, final days, ect. Apologize to anyone this offends. Doc told me not to think about it, don't worry about that now. I wont to know. Maybe it would be better if answered in a message and not a post or if someone had a link to a page.

First off if you want to know about end stage liver diease google and read about it, its not pretty at all.

But first realize this, most people die with Hep not from Hep.

You need to get the proper medical advise. and then make an educated descision on treatment.  Now if you want know the truth about treatment.  here it is:

Its different for everyone!!

Some people are fine and working and taking care of their families.

Other have rash, fever, chills, mouth sores.

Others have anemia, joint pain, fatigue, stomach problems, brain fog

The thing is with this treatment you just dont know... I am treating  and in 28 weeks...if you would have ask me at week 16 would i still be treating my answer would be NO!!!  I have wanted to quit more then once, but the other side of that is at 12 weeks i was UND (no virus) and 24 weeks UND...so to give up 48 weeks to hopefully achieve SVR and be tired, itchy rash, mouth sores etc.  its definetely worth it.

You wont know what sides you get until you start, so look yourself in the mirror and say do i want try this treatment and hopefully rid myself of this, or do i want worry everyday for the rest of my life, when is my liver going fail me.

toughen up get to the doctor, stick with us and you will get through it!!!!

Peace
Rita

LMAO Texas.

GG - let's just say that End Stage Liver Disease is really not something anyone wants.

Liver Cancer....

The liver is the organ that cleans out all of the impurities in our blood - this cleans out amonias, build up of toxins, etc.

When your blood is not cleaned, your other organs fail, including your brain.

You start to swell up - and parts of your body - JUST QUIT working.

It's a slow, dwindling, painful way to die.

NOT nice at all.

However, if you are trying to determine whether YOU --- YOU ---- Need to take TX...

And what the end result of your decision --- should it be that you do not want to TX... might be....

Well --- who knows IF --- YOU --- will end up with ESLD (End Stage Liver Disease).

Or Liver Cancer.

Each person responds differently to the disease, it's progression - treatment --- and non-treatment --- alternative medicines and no medicines.

So will it be in store for you?

I don't know.

I think what Texas714 said pretty much hits it on the head.

I don't think you're getting morbid --- but I do think that when someone first learns about HCV -- it's kind of a surreal feeling...

I think each person probably goes through the stages of Grief... And I think that each person handles the information a little bit differently.

Some attack it head on - look for facts and only facts --- and do percentages - weigh their odds.

Some listen to the doctor --- blindly

Some take matters into their own hands and research it to death -- then make their choices.

Others --- don't do anything and hide.

And many ways of dealing with it.

EACH PERSON is different... This makes HCV a little more difficult to handle - but at the same time - it means that while we all different --- we do have HCV in common.

Whether we are treating or not.

It's a VERY personal choice to choose to treat - or to not treat.

NO ONE here can choose for you.

We can merely advise what we've been through --- what some of us are going through...

And that's about what we can offer --- along with our support and understanding.

I hope it all gets easier for you.

Don't fry your brain out trying to stuff all this info in at once.

HCV doesn't kill overnight --- at least most of the time... You have time to research it --- so don't try overfrying yourself out.

Super hugs, nice to meetcha again - and take it easy!

I hope I am coming across in a way that you understand. I dont mean at all to be abrupt.
I wouldnt worry about how you will die wheher there will be pain or suffering. Especially since this is not the time to do so. You werent given a death sentence. There isnt an illness on the planet that is a so called easy death unless we go in our sleep.
No one ever died of good health.  Please be positive every illness on the planet can kill us.
Think about how you can make your liver better and maybe one day get well.
We are all going to die one day and when that day comes it will not matter if we have pain or not, it will be out of our control.
Please try to concentrate on the positive here.
I truly hope you understand what I am trying to say.

BEST OF LUCK.
