I finished TX June 1. Many of the liver warnings simply refer to the fact that people with liver damage require a lower dose for the med to work effectively (can't process the full dose), so you have to look at the warnings for specifics. I avoid labels that say the drug may increase ast/alt (liver enzymes) and will also avoid oral steroids and other immuno-suppressives until I get well past SVR.
They make a vicoda with much less tylenol in it, they are yellow. Don't take them but my brother does. My doc told me ultram (tramadol) would be OK in moderation, don't know about the other drug. Good Luck
I get my liver enzymes tested often, the only problem is that is creating scars that are gross and look like I am using IVD's. It is also hard to find a spot where there is not a spot and it hurts :-((

I was told to have my liver enzymes tested regularly to see if the meds. are doing any damage.
Is this possible for you?
Good Luck - Lynne
Agree - I usually say "oh not going to hurt my liver anymore than it already is right doc" just in case he forgets my particulars. I figure a simple reminder might come in handy just in case.
Unfortunately in this life though usually we have more than just something wrong with our liver and you gotta do what you gotta do to take care of the rest of yourself, right?
All medications carry a liver disease warning which means none of us can take anything!
The liver, even a beat up Hep C liver is tougher than you think.
If the prescribing doctor knows your liver history take the drugs, they won't affect your anti-viral treatment.
