Meds

My meds just came. They sent me Riba pack. 2 pills a day. 600mg in the morn and 400mg at night. I didn't want these horse pills. This happened last year except last year it was the wrong dosage - 2 600mgs and some unknown brand that I never heard mentioned on forum.

They were supposed to only send a 3 month supply and instead I have 6 boxes sitting in my refrigerator. I mean really, how do you hide that much interferon. My friends and in -laws open my fridge and get things themselves sometimes.

What is your opinion on the huge pills? I concern myself with the ability of the stomach to break it down and absorb. I never take huge vitamin tablets for that reason. I have already seen pieces of vitamins in my stool that didn't break up and disolve. And the 6 months of drugs in my fridge - are they kidding or what?

Did anyone else ever get 6 months at a time?

yeah, I think I'll buy one of those little fridges to keep them out of the way.

Thanks Elaine.
Good luck to you and Nick too.

So ya calling me ~crazeeeee~.My doctor says I am crazy and I said that doctors don't call "real" crazy people crazy. So I know I am normal and you can't convince me otherwise, sir -nope.

Yup ,see, I'm not nuts! Or paranoid. That was my concern even about getting 3 months at a time - I had mentioned what would happen if a power failure while I was away.

Now I am back to square one again.

I appreciate what your point though. thanks

We have had our moments to be sure but I'm not sure "crazy about her" would be the most accurate characterization of my feelings, anyway. The word "crazy" does fit in there somewhere but not quite in the context you selected.

Thanks guys and linda. My husband just called and had a good point. Last year I had to send interferon back (summertime) cause it came with all the ice melted and meds warm. The truck driver said it was packed wrong before I even opened it,,,,so my husband said that I won't have to worry about the summer shipment - thats true. I figured he would be annoyed about the fridge, cause he likes it just so, but he said don't worry about it. BTW only received 3 months of riba. So I do have to call and I'll see if I can exchange for the little pills.

And Mike, that was funny, but true at the same time so even if it wasn't a joke, I would have to say you're right, but I probably would have been mad at you for a few days or so knowing me. You have to put "LOL's" when you are joking. None of us like using LOL's but we do so there is no mistake in whats a joke or not. I know you won't put an LOL anyhow, but ya know what I mean. Guys that own Harley's don't use 'LOL's? <just kidding.

And Jim, I wouldn't have been mad at you if it wasn't a joke that mike made. You didn't do anything wrong. Mike did - as usual. lol j/k - am I? *smile* yes I am joking- just like you were. lol

Thanks guys.

Ps Ladywhy,,,,yeah some of the old threads were funny. But sometimes me and Mike would not know when were were joking and we would get into major fights. Jim would sometimes come in and try to get things back on track while ducking the punches. lol

I have always told you that I have a strange sense of humor - that was my sense of humor and I should have realized that you too were in a humorous mood. I really wasn't sure just where you were coming from and it's reassuring to know that I am not too far outside this collective or shared reality. Mike

I think you've uncharteristically lost your sense of humor this morning. Yes, I know who I was posting to. Anyway, now she can be mad at both of us :)

You said: "maybe you're uncharacteristically overthinking things?"
I question your choice of the adverb "uncharacteristically" to modify the verb "overthinking". You do realize who you're posting to, don't you? This seems right in line and I can find nothing at all uncharacteristic contained in this post.

As to the pills, I don't think your stomach cares if it's one big pill or a couple of smaller ones, maybe you're uncharacteristically  overthinking things?  That said, I got very proprietary about my riba and got by on my xtra Copegus even when the shipped the generic near EOT.

You can never have too much Peg in reserve. But with a six month supply, minimally I'd get a fridge thermometer and some sort of electrical outage alarm if you plan on being away from home for more than a few days time.  I kept my Peg and Procrit in one of those hard plastic containers so it was away from the food but no one else was rummaing through my fridge. If that's a concern, you could probably get a similar one with a lock, or get a mini or medical refrigerator for your meds and keep it in another room. If anyone asks you what the locked box contains, tell them your storing your husband's sperm but that you'd be happy to open it up if they want some.

I break my horse pills in half, so they are easier to take.

Hey girl what are you worried about? Someone in your family or some idiot is going to come over and grab one of those shots and use it?  LOL Boy would they be in for a ride of their life! If someone was stupid enough to do this it sounds like they deserve the wild ride! j/k, but not really!

How about one of those wine cooler things or a little fridge. I have a little fridge in my bedroom for water. That is lot of Peg to keep in the fridge, where's the food going to go?  LOL

This is funny! Hey, at least you won't have to worry about the meds coming!
