thanks libby & frijole. That gives me a range.
It had dropped to 440 then last month it shot up to >1000 on it's own. Currently, my ANC is around 800. Doc wants to watch it because it's all over the place. Just like my hb up & down, up & down.
My hemotologist wanted me to take it when the ANC reached 800 (.8) in the hopes she could boost it to 1000 (1.0) but I begged off until in reached 400 (.4) I then took it for the duration of my tx. That was week 16 when I began. At first I only used it about once every two weeks, but increased it to once a week and at the very end of my 56 weeks boosted it to 2 a week (for only a couple of weeks).
I never had bad side effects, but I think the side effects were masked by the side effects of all the other treatment drugs. After tx I continued using it to help bring up my ANC and by itself, I could feel the side effects (bone aches) .
Hi Libby, good to see you posting....
frijole
It's been a while.....My ANC's would get to 0.5 (or 500) before they would intervene. I know lots of times they were lower than that and bounced back up.Thet just give you a prescription to fill at the pharmacy. I think it will have some kind of co-pay;(maybe $30.00) and then you give the shot at home. No different then the pegsays. It does have different side effects though. It works pretty rapidly though. Your's must be getting low!
Take care now, -Libby
