Pain in liver area

Hello. I am new to this forum and have a quick question - I almost know the answer to. May help some others since I did not see anyone recently asking about what causes the pressure, burning sensation in the liver area. I have been diagnosed 2 years ago, 20 mill viral load (had gone up from 14 mill 2 years ago). Had fibroscan with 0 stage fibrosis and ultrasound showed mild enlargement and diffuse lesion on liver. All other organs are normal. I had on and off pain for almost a year and have not bothered to take anything because it is tolerable. One thing I noticed, eating protein ( I live practically fat free all my lifeand am vegetarian for 30 years) will start the pain so I am thinking diet is very important.Unfortunately regular MDs do not give too much advice for the particular patient's life style issues - so it is possible we are on our own in making observations and puttin 2+2 together.

wow! you must be in such great shape...a few years ago i had liver pain and was told it was from my liver shrinking...i had quit drinking...i found eating eggs seemed to help..i was told the protien in eggs was good to restore the damaged liver cells but not the right protien to make new cells...for about 10 years now i have trouble with exercise that brings my heart rate up real high for like an hour ..i get diarrhea from it..so now i bike for like 30 or 40 miles but not that hard..i haven't used a heart rate monitor for a while but i'm quite sure i keep it less the 130..maybe even 115...i also get lots of pain that i didn't use to get so it's hard to run very far.. even walking fast after 5 miles theres pain..sometimes i think it's from cutting out almost all red meat...i think somethings missing in my diet just don't know what..

Welome,  you will find lots of helpful information here. I also have had pain in liver on/off for 4 years now. I am a marathoner, trialthlete, and eat very well. I have tried everything  to see if it changes the pain pattern, swimming, not swimming, running, not running, etc....and nothing seems to change it.  I have been to 3 different doctors who all tell me the same thing, sortta. Interesting to see what happens with your insight on the protein intake and pain. I have not tried giving up protein but thought maybe being on hormones, bioidentical, could be the cause I am just not ready to give them up!!!!

Good luck and keep coming back to forum.  What genotype are you. I am 1a.
