Pegasis and Milk Thistle

My husband is in week 5 of treatment.  He wants to take Milk Thistle with his Pegasis/Riba.  Do any of you know if it is alright to take them with your treatment.  And thank you in advance for everyone's help.

I stopped taking Milk Thistle when I started treatment. Some people continue. Take a look at the attached thread and it may help you decide. Good luck.

There is an urban myth (believed by many on this forum) that milk thistle 'inteferes' with  the action of interferon.
In fact milk thistle is not allowed on clinical trials because they don't want some patients taking it and others not thus muddying the data.
The actual evidence on milk thistle is that it does nothing-good or bad!
There have been few agents subjected to such scrutiny as milk thistle with persisent investigations over the years.
The jury is no longer out-there is no evidence of any benefit in cases of alcohol or hepatitis induced liver injury.
