Pregnancy after combination therapy

I am 30 years old and have finished Peg Interferon and Ribavirin treatment for Hepatitis C Genotype 2(24 weeks) about 6 months ago. I have had no virus detectable since about 8 weeks in the treatment. I want to become pregnant now. What are the risk factors?

Congrats on clearing the virus and being free and clear to get pregnant!!

If it were me.....I'd wait another six months yet.  I have nothing statistical to base that on.  I would simply want to put enough distance between the drugs and my body to be absolutely sure there's nothing left.  Six months is the time it takes for ribavirin to clear the system.  I waited six months before getting an eye checkup to make sure everything was back to my new normal before getting one.  I'd want to leave a little more space when it comes to having a child.  That's opinion only.

If I were you I would also wait another six month. I would actually do some kind of detox like lymph drainage massage and colon cleanses to rid my body of any left over toxins.

The package insert in the riba pack says to wait 6 months, but I think Trish has a good point. The little person you are wanting is going to live with you for a long time, so a little more waiting just to be safe would be a good idea.
