Questions to ask

I have an appt on the 15th with a pulmonologist for my copd to hopefully get him and my hep doc on the same page to start treatment this summer. kaiser can really suck sometimes so I have to make the most of this appt.  Any tips on what to ask, like specific helper drugs? Seems like no matter how much I plan my mind goes out the window when I'm there.

Thanks
Donna

I always had problems with remembering what I planned on asking the doctor too. One day I just pulled out my list of questions that I had meant to ask but couldn't remember and my doctor actually said he was glad that I had written them down. It saves them time while we are trying to remember, plus they don't have to deal with us calling later because we remembered something we had forgotten to ask.

Hi Donna,

I imagine your questions for the pulmonologist should be how HCV therapy generally affects COPD; I doubt he’ll be involved with specifics of virus management.

My question to them would look something like this:
~~~~~~~~~~
Dear Doctor ______,
I plan on participating in HCV therapy this summer. Can you advise how this might affect my COPD; are there any measures you need to take in advance to help me in this effort?
Do I need to sign a release of information in advance so you can request records from my GI doc if needed?
Would you like to receive any clinical notes my GI office generates?
Thanks,
Donna
