RA and Hep C

I have had Hep C since 1982.  In the past few years I began experiencing more and more painful episodes of Rheumatoid Arthritis.  I wonder if anyone who has been cured of Hep C saw improvement of RA symptoms.

Hi there and welcome.  Wish it were so that RA would be extinguished along with a Hep C cure.  It's likely or possible that the RA may have been caused by having the virus as it does tend to bring on Auto Immune disorders.  With RA it can go in and out of remission without rhyme or reason.  Your best approach in my opinion would be to treat your Hep C.  You never know, it could alleviate your symptoms.  RA is fueled by stress and inflammation.  Harboring a deadly inflammatory virus such as Hep C which can bring harm to your entire well being should be dealt with and eliminated.  We are the fortunate ones as now we have a cure.
Must say, since clearing the virus my RA is minimal.  Being cured is the most amazing transformation in regards to my health.  Please know that we are all in this together and will help you in any way we can to getting you cured. The meds are of short duration and the side effects are doable.
Best to you

Hi I think there are many people who have improved after treating the HCV.  I have read that many people are dx with HCV when they go to an RA doctor with aches and pains.
With the new shorter medications, easier to take, now is the best time to tx HCV
Good luck to you, Dee
