Incivek tx/ bm

Hi all
I'm on week 23 of incivek tx. My doc finally gave me a zofran rx 11 days ago. It helped a bunch w/the nausea...but caused moderate to nasty constipation. I experimented with zofran doses and laxatives to get a balance and thought I had it managed.
This morning, I had a Very bloody BM(fresh blood).
I've had a hemmoroid problem in the past that was no problem for 3 years. The incivek reignited that prob...but went away after a couple months on tx. All bleeding in the past was very very minor..but very uncomfortable.
Today, the hemmoroids aren't bothering me...but the BM was twice as much blood as stool.

Has anyone experienced this?
Any ideas? thoughts?

Thank you very much, as always.
John

Hi John.

I would call your doctor's office and let them know that you have been constipated and now have had bleeding hemorrhoids. Tell then about the amount of blood and that you are on hep C treatment. Blood loose can cause problems with electrolyte balance and anemia so your doc may want to do a blood test.

In the future you will need to stay hydrated and eat more fiber you may need a laxative to prevent constipation. Your gastroenterologist is your best resources for information on this issue.

Good luck.
