I got my test results from the lab and  it's Saturday.  I can't talk to my doctor till Monday and am curious about something.  This is what it said

A 'weak' pos, which is what you have is, in all probablity, a fale pos.  Ask your doctor for a 'Riba' confirmatory test.  this is VERY specific for Hcv antibody.  Most weak pos results on the screening test are neg by Riba, which means no antibody.

Two qs:

1) What was you s/co ratio?  Less than 2.5 or so is really low.  Riba will probably be neg.

2) What was your risk?

If you need a place for the riba test, call 'request a test.' 1888-732-2348.

I'm not sure what it all means, but, ck. this out: My friend to me for one of my BT's and saw the red cross Bus in the pkng. lot at the hosp. where she took me.  She thought,' why not donate blood while she was waiting for me anyhow?' They told her a few days later that her blood showed HEP B, antibodies.  She asked if she had HBV. They said, "no", but  that she had come in contact with someone who had HBV.  The antibodies  were in her blood to keep her from catching the virus.  Then, her own MD, re-tested her for ANY type of HV, and it came back NEGATIVE.  So, don't get all uspet for no reason.  You're probably just fine.  Worrying just gives you a crease between your eyebrows.  Have a wonderful weekend!!! Hugs, Ant B
