Scary future at V.A. Hospitals.

Hi all. Am a female veteran and go to vets hosp. Ny. I want to have quality care but feel that we who r vets are not given that. My liver has gotton worst. They always give me a new doctor. They don't like complaints. What should I do? I just have this medical. I was given interfuron, ribavaron was non-responder. My age is 61. While on trmt I did my own monitoring. Am geno type 1a. Anyone with similar experience. Thanks and  may God bless u all. Jamila336,NY

I am so happy to have met u all on this forum. I feel alot more motivated to look into all the advices u gave me. My liver is in bad shape with severe fibroses. I might even have cirrohses already. The v.a. never realy lets me knows whats going on thats why I have to change for a new trmt facility. I will see what I can do. I do appreciate meeting and making new friends here I must admit this is a very scary disease and without a support group such as u all I am scared out of my witts. Thanks u all for ur helping hands God's blessings.                                       Jamila336 NY

Excuse my ignorance but is there a few different locations you can go to. Maybe if you change to another VA hospital you may get better attention. Just a thought. Good luck.

I am so sorry to hear you are not getting the care you deserve.  Its time to go to Washington and tell them we are ALL sick and tired of this..
In the meantime why dont you look for a study (thats my answer because I had such goood luck with it )  because you are genotype I you are harder to treat,  I had very good luck with the new Protease Inhibitors and Polymerasee inhibitors.  I am now clear after 24 weeks of treatment.  I had very little liver damage to start  and that may have helped, but check your area for studies coming up.
I am 62.... good luck and keep hanging in, there is help.
