hep c and kidney failure

i have a friend who has been on treatment for at least 4-5 years or so, 2 or 3 rounds with interfuron and riba and also daily interfuron maintenance, he has cirrosis and is on dialysis now for kidney failure... im wondering if kidney failure is a normal progression of hep c when you are at end stage or if this could have happened because of being on meds for so long...

any info would be appreciated thanks...

I'm 51 said my liver should hold out for rest of life now only if kidney will, sorry about your friend may-be stopping treatment will help improve health?
