Haven't been around to see if anyone's addressed this yet but I noticed that procrit, or at least - when I received my 20,000 unit bottles of epogen yesterday this was true - has a new multidose vial. This would have been all kinds of helpful to me when I was treating. I did some kind of dodgey things back then, like using non multi-dose vials more than once and/or storing epogen in an extra needle if I wanted to divide the bottle in half. Short of getting two different strengths of epo at the time, it was my only alternative. Since I will always have to be on epogen, its really helpful for me even now to be able to take 5k or 15k of epo instead of having to either take the full 20k or wasting the rest of the bottle, or storing it in a not so safe condition. You have to of course, use clean needles, take precautions not to contaminate the bottle by sterilizing the top before each draw, etc, but it may be a good option for some, these multi-dose vials. If procrit doesn't have them yet, you can always switch to epogen. Same difference as far as I know. Anyway, just wanted to drop in with the info.
