I also have a headache and my ears are ringing. This morning at 8am, I took my first dose of Ribivrin(3capsules) I will take 2 more this evening,5 per day. I am happy to get started. I hope you all have a wonderful day:)

I do my shot at 8pm at night . I go to bed at 9.30 so if any sides do come up I will be in bed but so far, with tonight being shot 4 I have had no sides. My first shot was done three thurs ago with Reba started the following morning. That is how the clinic set me up.

Hi, Sorry about the side effects.  As folks have said, the first shot is usually the toughest for sides and they get better quickly.  I don't know your life and work schedule but you might want to try your injection closer to bedtime.  A lot of folks do that so that you go to sleep instead of sitting up and feeling crappy.  I dd that my first round of treatment and it helped.  Currently, I am in a clinical trial and do my shots on Thursdays around 11 am as that is also when I do them at clinic (just did shot #7 at home).  The major side I have after the injection is the headache.  I don't take anything because of the trial that I am on but check with your doctor to see if Tylenol or Ibuprofen is better for you and your liver.

You sure about the RIBA dosing??  I take 2 in the morning and 3 at night.  Like you, my nurse also had me start the RIBA the morning after the shot.  I have seen it done a couple of different ways here in the forum.  Sorry you had a rough night but hopefully that will be the end of it, and you won't have the same from the 2nd shot.  I agree with NY and Pooh -- take something 30 minutes prior to the shot to help with sides.  I haven't taken anything after but see that as a plus as well.  Drink PLENTY of water throughout treatment.  It does help.  You can do this!  Stay strong and keep the faith!

I am sorry to hear you had a rough night. I concur with nygirl7. Take a couple of tylenol when you do the injection. I take one 30 min. before the inj. and one about an hour after the injection. Then I take another one the next morning. So far that has helped me a great deal.

I feel the worst (flu like) the day after the inj. and 2 days after the inj. but by the end of the week I feel pretty good (not ready to run a marathon, but pretty good). I was pretty spaced out with the pills the first couple of days but that got better.

I wish you the best.

They had you start the riba after the shot that's pretty odd I always heard it the other way around.

Anyways, take two tylenols with the shot it helps a lot of folks from getting the chills.  It worked for me.
